My beardie has had this white spot on her side for a while now, and I just found out that it is a translucent patch. Is this normal?

It could be a patch of retained shed, or a patch going to shed, but I'm more concerned with the black area, it may be the start of a fungal infection...How long has he had it? When did he last shed, and did he have the patch prior to his last shed? Any other areas that look similar on him?

There are no other spots like it, she has had this spot for about 6-8 months, and the last time she shed in that spot was 2 months ago.

That's a tough one, if it's lasting through sheds it would be best, in my opinion, to take her to an experienced reptile vet for a simple skin scraping test. It's inexpensive, not invasive at all and won't cause her any pain, and will let you know for sure if it's a fungal infection or something worse, like a growth of weird cells that may turn into something in the future...

It is odd looking. A skin test & vet exam is probably a good idea. It looks like it could be a burn or scar tissue or something like that. Hard to say for sure though so it's best to have it checked out. If it hasn't expanded or transformed in 6 months that's probably a good sign though.

How much would a skin scraping test cost?

Cost will vary depending on where you are but you could call the vet ahead of time and they should be able to tell you how much to expect to pay.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
