On early am sunday she went into "labor" and I woke up to find 3 eggs trampled She laid them very nonchalant on the side of the lay box in her tank. She wasn't smuggling any marbles and I couldn't feel a thing the day before either.
I then carefully, monday morning, transferred her into an approx 40 gal bin with plenty of additive free topsoil, moist, heaped to 1 side and compacted a little, lamps on top, 96.4 in the basking spot, with a h20 dish, lid 1/2 on for privacy, and started her a hole.
Monday evening 1 more egg (punctured). And still no digging just trying to get out.
Tuesday early am 2 more eggs (heavily dimpled and "joined together") and for the rest of the day tried her damnedest to get outta there! She was jumping, tromping around just raising hell like she was done with the traumatizing ordeal. Quite frankly I think she was far more surprised to see/lay the egg than I was.
Today, wednesday , I was planning on taking her out around 6pm east coast time b/c of how spunky she was. Which to me was a clear sign of NO egg binding (whew!).
So (while in the bin) I was able to make her eat 2 heavily dusted superworms, and 2 crickets. I didn't wanna push it with the stress. I left her in there till about 10:30 pm.
Gave her a bath in warm water and gently massaged her belly checking for more eggs. Couldn't see or feel anything. But left her to play around like she always does.
I came back 20 min later to heat the h20 back up and ANOTHER EGG!
Should i put her back in the bin or her tank? I don't want to handle her too much, but 4 days in her bin seems quite long. For the time being I put her in an unfamiliar tank with enough substrate to dig if she decides to throw another curve ball.
So my guess is that she's picky and not a digger either. Everything I've read makes this seem somewhat unusual!
HELP!!!
