I have an approximately 3 month old baby beardie (about 5 1/2 inches). Since I got him about a month ago, I've kept an eye on his feces and thought they looked fine but I recently read something about possible dehydration if urates are too chalky/firm. He seems to like to go when I'm out of the house, so every time I see his feces it's always a little dried up already.. So I decided to try getting some water in him, just in case. I gave him a 20 min soak yesterday (he'll be getting another soak after this post) and I tried giving him baby food mixed with water via a syringe yesterday as well. He only licked up a little of the baby food (maybe about 5 or 6 drops) and refused the rest.
He pooped this morning (funny thing is, I said goodbye to him, as usual, went and got my shoes on, realized I forgot something in my room, and as soon as I opened my door, he had just started doing his business.. which is why I suspect he likes his privacy!) and the feces looked very wet and gooey.. I am wondering if this is okay.. I am a first time beardie mom so I'm just a bit paranoid about every little thing.
Thank you in advance to anyone who replies.
