Hey just got my beardie from petsmart for christmas. Shes 6 inches and in a 40 gal tank. She has an 18 inch reptisun10.0 uvb, a zilla dayglo blue 150watt basking light and if it gets too cold i turn on her 60 watt infrared nightbulb. My only problem is when shes out, her stress marks seem to disappear but when she goes into her tank they come back brightly. Keep in mind her red light is not on!! her cool side reads 72 degrees and warm reads 87-89 degrees basking is 102. whats wrong? and if your asking about food she gets Phoenix Worms. originally i heard it was just relocation stress but i dont think that is it anymore bcus she is fine out of her tank or when shes in the bath. any suggestions?

These "Bright Mark's" could just be your Beardies Coloring popping out from being under the UVB, which is not a Bad thing, but it could also be Stress as well. It could also be the Dayglo Blue Bulb, I would say try to get a more Clear bulb that produce's bright clean light with no added color to it.

to try out what Rusel said, just get yourself a household normal true light or clear bulb. they are cheap and work well.

These are not her true colors because they are under her belly. If im not mistaken that would mean stress marks. So what kind of bulb should i get from the hardware store?

Just a clear household bulb or halogen spot/flood light. Might have to play with watts to get right temps. I bet he doesnt like the blue light :study: 8)

Get a halogen flood light, probably a 45-50 watt. You also could bump up your temps to 105-110, babies like it a little hotter. I just bumped up the temp on mine and he seem to be improving.

You can add a regular house bulb or even one of the energy efficient ones for ambient light but you don't have to.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
