I am so sorry he is having such a hard time right now. I hope that they can get him stabilized for you quickly.
Did they do a blood test on him yet?
Neurological issues are not always a death sentence, no. Keep us posted on him & what the vet says.

Well, he's home. He had a vitamin ADE injection and a calcium injection. When I got home from work, I gave him a 20 minute soak and he drank a tiny bit. My calcium from Tracie got here today but I will wait til tomorrow to give it to him. He ate 3 decent sized butter worms and was eyeing a fourth but has yet to go after it. I am supposed to call Tuesday morning with a follow up. He is still rubbing his face on things, but he does have some shed on his head so that MAY be why. Ok, so he JUST went for the worm, but because he didn't get it on his first try, he gave up. He is aiming properly, he sticks his tongue out to get the worm in the right place, but idk his tongue isn't sticky enough and he just quits after one try. What do you think that means?

That is great the calcium came today. Let me know how that works out for him.
The shed on his face may be causing him some stress. The vitamin shots hopefully gave him some boosts, perhaps he was low on his levels.
He is aiming well though? I don't know why he wouldn't have a sticky tongue though, they tend to give up sometimes when they can't get it on the first try.
Sometimes thiamin deficiency can cause aim issues or mimic metabolic bone disease symptoms, too.

Yup, his aim is fine. I was giving him butterworms and they kinda stick to the paper towel so there was some resistance that discouraged him, but he did eat it eventually. When I gave him a non sticky cricket, he got that with no issue at all. So he ate 4 butters, a little bok choy and a cricket. I also got .4 ml of water into him. He fell asleep tonight with no flipping or any strange movements.

That is good he has perfect aim then. They just get frustrated though when they can't get it on the first try most of the times.
Oh that is true, they may have been harder for him to get off of the paper towels. At least he did eat finally & took some water in as well. I am sure he was worn out so I hope that he sleeps well tonight!

Did the vet say how to prevent any more incidents? Is it a matter of using liquid calcium for now on or will you need to use a stronger UVB? I know a breeder on here has silks and he uses the repisun 10 with no skin problems.

Hey guys, the vet didn't say anything about changing the UVB, he said that the liquid calcium instead of the powder sounded like a good change. He had a great night, no flipping and seemed much more coordinated. From what I can tell today he is also acting normal. He ate 5 butterworms already and is watching a sixth carefully. SOOOO hoping that the problem is fixed.

In other news, he measured in at 8" today
