IS this a sign of MBD?

Hello,

That is pretty neat he loves his little island in his bath! At least he doesn't mind his baths then. Yes, the meds definitely dehydrate them so the baths will really help a lot. The meds should be fine, as long as they were dosed properly to his weight.
The head shaking could be nervousness but with calcium deficiencies, their neuromuscular functions are affected & they cannot always control their muscular functions. His calcium levels should be improving, so his shaking intermittently will be going away pretty soon.
At least the reptiworms are helping.
The shedding can also be affected sometimes when they are having nutritional issues. It should correct itself soon.

Keep us posted on him.

Well yesterday i showed an update on him. I thought he was doing pretty bad. But today he is supporting himself pretty well. ANd his walking seems to be improving. If u want to see his pictures i posted them on a separate thread yesterday in Health. I was pretty worried about him but now he is doing better. Today for breakfast he refused reptiworms.... Instead he only wanted Dubias XD. Just got the dubias yesterday for free from a person on this site, Keith (aka raposak). He gave me thousands cuz his colony got too big. So Shadow loves dubias now. but i never gave up on reptiworms because he needs to finish them since i already bought them... lol. Weird thing about the dubias is they can EAT. Fast... I left a can of dog food in there last night. Today its half empty  ! Lol but other than that things seem to be getting better. The doctor said 2 weeks (by the time we come in for a 2nd dose of panacur) and shadow should be walking normally. If he doesnt by then, then i seriously think its the doctors fault. WE came in and shadow was walking and active, only problem was headshaking and apparent parasites. Then we leave at night. Wake up and he was limping etc etc (you know the story). But i see him improving daily so maybe the doctor wasnt at fault at all and im just worried.

Hello,

How is he doing today?
So he ate some dubias instead of his worms, well, that is ok. It sounds like he is feeling quite a bit better now.
Well, it could have just been a combination of things, low calcium & possibly a little sprain or injury that is getting better now. As long as he is improving now, that is all that matters. Hopefully his parasite count is going down, as well. :D

Ya today his walking seemed nearly 100% normal. He is climbing really well now. And he eats good too. he pooped today and it seemed better. And i havent noticed his head shaking for like 4 days. Now the only thing worrying me is his stiff left hind leg. I posted about it in my other thread with picks. Basically his right leg can bend at the knee far enough for his leg and thigh to connect. His left cant do that and the knee is stiff. It can still move just not bend as far as the right one. And i think that is why he isnt walking 100% normal now... More pics are on my other thread called: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=134933

In the picture this is how far in it can go in. THere is space between his leg and thighs. As you can see his right leg can bend till his legs and thighs can touch. He can still move his left leg, its just slightly stiff.

Hello,

Which leg do you think that he initially hurt, was it the left leg that is still a little stiff?
If he is walking better, then that is good. Try giving him a bath & getting him to swim around a little bit. That should help the joint loosen up some, if done on a daily basis.
Great that you have not seen the head shake for several days now. It takes a little while for their calcium levels to increase enough for the neuromuscular system to balance out.
Keep us posted on him. It sounds like he is really improving for you now. :D

The leg that i thought he originally hurt was his front left leg. That seems better now. Now the back left leg seems to be the stiff one (the one i nthe picture). But it does seem slightly better daily, and his walking is ALOT better. And i finally got him back on reptiworms so he isnt just on dubias. Once he is 100% better ill try to get a video of him lol.

Hello,

Good that he is walking better. I know you have the other thread regarding him as well. You can post the pictures on here, or the video so we can see how he is walking. I hope he is getting around better now.
It sounds like his appetite has picked up as well.

Okay sorry for not updating past 2 days. BUt nothing has really changed until today... Well ive been keeping up with meds easily. I found the best way to apply the meds is to let the beardie bask and then when it gapes give it the meds real quick lol. Also Shadows appetite is getting bigger and bigger which is good. Today he ate 11 dubias for breakfast. Now for today i thought everything was good. Until Something bad happened. After not noticing the head shaking for around a week (which remember can be a sign of nervousness sometimes) it happened again when i touched him. I was going to pick him up for the daily handling and he started shaking when i touched him. Then the bottom half of his body seemed to shake, not really his hind legs more of his hips/vent. Then when i picked him up and put him on the ground. His tail began twitching, which ive never seen before. I was thinking is he having a seizure? Then i finally took out 2 dubias and put them in the bin. He chased them and ate both of them, but as he was chewing his head was still shaking... Then he climbed his branch all by himself and returned to basking. Now everything seems back to normal, his left hind leg is getting better daily, but this was just like a freak incident which confused the **** out of me. How is he having a healing leg, and growing appetite, yet starting to have seizures, even though he is on all his meds. AND daily baths instead of every other day baths... Help  :?

Okay right now something weird is happening... He is breathing really heavily to the point where his entire body moves as he breathes. I took a video of it, even though this is when he calmed down a bit. In the video i also show his swelled knee that is limiting his movement (i compare the swelled left one to the normal right one). And his overall appearance now. I am really worried because he never breathed like this before. New problems seem to come up every day since we started medication.... Idk if its the parasites or medication but something bad keeps happening as a previous bad thing disappears... Head shaking stops --> seizures begin. - Front left leg stops swelling --> Hind left leg becomes stiff. Appetite gets better --> lethargy increases. Really weird stuff... And it all started from the day of the vet... Please any input? Could this heavy breathing/puffing up just be from shedding or is it a respiratory infection. Forgot to mention that as he breaths his beard puffs up and it looks like he is constantly swallowing, then he starts to gape and his breathing stops. The second he closes his mouth it starts up again.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
