Is this a shed?

Worried new mom here!

The colouring seems to match other photos I've seen of beardies starting to shed, but as this would be Wade's first shed with me, I just wanted to make sure... it just looked so strange wrapping around the base of the tail in a band like that. Does that look pretty normal, or does it seem like a skin condition? It was like that when I woke up this morning, but he looked 100% normal last night. It's the only area that looks like that, but it wraps all around the top and sides...

Yep, that's a shed. Nothing to worry about =). They often shed in patches and it can appear as strange patterns but nothing to be concerned with.

Okay, great! Given what his poor tail has already gone through, it just alarmed me that the pale pink band showed up right there and only there... But his mouth was getting a little pink last night as well and his nostrils were puffy, too, so I think everything is good to go. Thank you for alleviating my fears!
