stay away from the dome kits, they hold the dreaded coil/compact florescent! a tube uvb, like the reptisun 10.0.. you can get a simple ballast (the thing that holds it) at lowes for a good price, and several pet stores sell the tube in smaller lengths. i bought mine from petsmountain.com, they had some sale. for a heat source, a regular incandescent light will do, but they are getting harder to find, in my opinion. there's also a combo one, the mercury vapor bulbs (MVB) that has heat, uvb and light all in one. i haven't used these yet, but looking into it. here's some info.. http://www.reptileuvinfo.com/docs/facts-about-mercury-vapor-bulbs.pdf
or do a forum search. remember, any uvb light decays, so you;ll be replacing them at 6month to a year, depending on which bulb you get- they simply wear out, and unlike a reg bulb blinking off, they still light- but less and less uvb is put out. so you can't see them degrade, but it's happening..
