Hey guys!
Wow its been ages since I have been here! Great job on the forum guys!!

I'm back after 3 years with pictures of my bearded dragon, I have noticed today he has a red mark on the back of his neck, which I can't rule out as being a burn...Coop's (BD) has been 'glass dancing' soooo much lately, he's also been trying to climb the back of his viv wall, he has never ever done this before - normally he just sits & watches the world go by.
He has never burnt himself before - nor has he tried to climb his vine or the back wall.
He is quiet a large BD (as in fat) & he can use his tail to his advantage!! to get to places - he likes to bounce off his tail, which is what I think he may of done here.
Is there any chance these marks are burn marks? How do I treat it until I can a) find a suitable vet & b) get him to the vets??? if it is?

We do not have a reptile vet here will have to research the nearest one....the vets we have are more farm animal vets, not reptile ones!!! Which I don't feel too happy with knowing the vets we have prob wont have much experience with a lizard.
But that might just be me!!!!
I only want whats best for my baby, lol.
I am really only looking for confirmation on whether it looks like a burn, & if it does (I have never seen pictures of reptile burns so I wouldnt know!!) I can research further. I have a couple of pictures but none that are perfect, but let me know if you need to see more!! thanks
But I thank you heaps n bunches in advance for any insight you can give with what ya think it may be!!! :)

Hello,

Welcome back.
Is there something that he can get too close to that would have inflicted a burn, such as his basking light or some other type of heating device? If not, it is highly unlikely that it is a burn.
It appears to just be pigmentation irregularities, but no big deal.
What type of UVB light are you using, & how close to it is he able to get?

Hi Tracie
Thanks for your reply, sorry for the delay in getting back!
My mum said it looks more like changing colour!! Hope it doesnt change too much I like his/her colour!! lol

We discovered he is actually a SHE!!! She lay 2 eggs today!!!
Still quiet shocked esp as in the summer time we took him to a local i dont know a place they have sea life & reptiles open for tourists
& the fella in there told us he was definatley a he!!! He said they were looking for a female to mate with their male!!
Doh!!!
It certainly explains the sudden digging & lack of appetite!!! & constant glass dancing :p We had been giving bath's daily since Thursday & she's been drinking quiet a bit!!!
I can't get used to calling her a She now!!! lol

Anyway! Thanks so much for your reply! (you actually answered my question on another forum - I was too impatient to wait for a reply lol sorry but Thanks twice :)

Hello,

Oh that is funny. So He is actually a SHE who just laid some eggs?
Well, that is good you know now though!
Has she laid anymore eggs yet, other than the 2?
Is she eating anything yet or still has a sudden loss of appetite right now?

Good that she is doing well though. Let us know if you need any other help.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
