Is the bathtub safe enough?

I have been bathing my boys in a big storage container that fits in the bathtub. It cracked, and I need to throw it away now. I am wondering if it is safe if I just bathe them in the bathtub instead of buying another container? I always see others doing it but when I filled up the tub I could see little suds floating around. I'm worried about the chemicals from Shampoo/body wash that are on the tub floor. What do you think?

I always give the bath a good scrub before and after bathing the lizards - however, Tsam comes in the shower with me. He knows to wait up at the end whilst I wash my hair and rinse away any bubbles, but then he comes down and takes over the shower (as it fills up the bath) when all the bubbles are gone
