Is Spike Choking???

Spike is opening his mouth more and seems like a gasp almost, and he is black bearding! I have never seen him do this before. None of his food is too big for him to eat, since it's kale we still make sure it's small.

How do I know for sure?????

All good now. I guess he was just mad about my dog barking lol sorry! First time I have ever seen him black beard. :shock:

I'm glad to hear he's OK now. They're pretty good at breaking down food but they can choke on occasion. You'll want to check their airway for blockage and try to keep them calm because it can be quite stressful. Black bearding will happen sometimes. It can be caused by moodiness or just for no apparent reason now and then. It's OK as long as it isn't for an extended period of time which could indicate sickness.
