Is Silver Shedding?Yes He Is Update 3-4-12

Just wondering if this seems like Silver is getting ready to shed. The contrast between her back and legs/tail is getting more distinct by the day and very striking in the bath. I know she shed just on her head just before I got her in the beginning of January. Wondering if the oranges will pop out even more.

I see a difference between the back and legs in the dry picture also. What do you think everyone? How long will it take before it peels away? Should I adjust temps in any way? She gets a bath almost everyday but can she have 2 if it would help?

You're so lucky!! That body definitely looks ready to shed soon. My little Baby still hasn't shed since I got her in December.
Beautiful colours on the legs and tail of your little one Silver, can't wait to see her fully shed.

Thanks Nathan...Silver does have some great orange highlights that I hope pop out more. Tried the sexing thing again...No bumps in sight so either it's too soon or she's a girl.

Feeling like a nervous novice about the shedding. Not sure if I should change anything I'm doing for the duration. Not sure how long it will take.. Must remember my motto.....Keep the faith!

There isn't anything they need Sivler, just be aware that he may have a loss of appetite, and will seem very moody during the process!
Nothing needs to be altered, although to speed along the process you can bath him 2 or 3 times a day if you wish.

Thanks Nathan....very reassuring. My name is Jeanne. Will throw in a second bath tonight and get her weekly weight and measure! Appetite is a little less especially in AM. Totally off veggies. Her demeanor hasn't changed at all. Still sweet and cuddly. When I wear fleece she rides around on my shoulder and hangs on. Will post pics as the process goes on.

Yeah the appetite is totally normal, and I think that and the mood is only effected in some beardies. I'm still yet to experience Baby's first shed, so we'll soon see how she acts, her head will hopefully begin to shed soon.

Can't wait for more pics of our little twin!
