Is she that young? with pictures

Hello, I've been looking through the forum for info on size vs. age. I noticed that there is no definite relationship, but I am still confused about Balrog. We got her from the pet store, they ordered through their usual supplier. We have no idea of hatch date, or any genetics at all. She was 15 cm (where's my convert, here: 5.9 in) when we got her on July 31 2009. She was already in shed the day we got her. We assumed she was about two weeks old, so we set an arbitrary birthday on July 15.

Now, she grows like crazy, to the point that I'm not sure anymore on the assumed birthday. She would be 5.5 months, measures 18 in and weighs 347 g. I saw on other posts people with much smaller beardies at the same age. Her growth rate is steady since we got her, we even drew graphs of her length and weight (yes, that's what two engineers do for fun!).

Here are some pictures of her taken in the last few days. Can anyone tell me if our age estimate seem right?

And a bonus: she did her first beard today during weighing session, lets just say the whole family was excited!

It's hard to tell. I have seen beardies that age and size, but I would guess she may have been more like 6 weeks when you got her. It's nearly impossible to tell though :?

I got my two beardies at 3 months old and they were about 5 inches. They are now 6 months old and 14 inches. So my guess was that yours was at least 2 months old. But beardies really do grow at their own rate .

Thank you for the replies, so if I add a month or two, she would now be 6.5 to 7.5 months.

I guess we have to decide on a new birthday !

5 to 6 inches is usually 1 to 2 months. We got Lexia and Roo at 5 weeks old they both were 6 1/2 inches.

Kinno was 14 inchs at 3 months.
Bobble was 11 1/2 inchs long and 60g. 3 months.
Roo was 17 inchs long and 220g. 5 1/2 months.
Lexia was 17 inchs long and 200g. 5 1/2 months.
Chimaira 18 1/2 inchs and 460g. 11 months. We stunted her growth she was our first we didnt know what we were doing intill she was about 4 to 5 months old. Thanks to this site!

All beardies grow at diff rates depending on their genes and all. Its always hard to guess the age of them unless you know the hatch dates. Usually pet shops have no idea.

No matter what her age is she is beautiful!
