Is phoenix worms and reptiworms a fancy named for maggot?

I was wondering what is the difference in reptiworms, and phoenix worms? They look like maggots to me? Is that just a fancy name for maggots? I'm just wondering, cause I ordered 1000 reptiworms....any help would be appreciated..thanks

yes, a maggot is the term for the larval stage of a fly.

yes they are the larval or "maggot" form of the black soldier fly which is a specific type of fly. They aren't your everyday run of the mill housefly maggot.

Oh, ok. I told my dad that they came from black soldier flies and he started to laugh. I asked him why he was laughing? He said that he was laughing because I'm paying money for maggots. He said if I wanted him to, he will go find some road kill and put it in something and wait for flies to get a hold of it and then I can get maggots for free. :roll: I didn't know what to say...

haha yes they are a maggot. I try to use the term grub as some people hate the word maggot. But ours are healthy little maggots which are grain fed and are not house fly maggots =P
