Is my boy's setup ok?

Just upgraded from a 20 to 40gal, I know it's kinda plain but does it look ok so far? Anything need to be changed?
Couple questions... How far should he be from the uvb and basking lights? He's about 6" from the uvb and maybe 7" or 8" or so from the basking. I literally just set it up so I'm going to keep an eye on the temps. And, does the thermometer probe need to be ON the basking spot for the temp to be accurate? Mines on the wall next to it, it would be kinda hard to set it on the log. ...

This is my first beardie. I'm obviously still learning and I feel like I'm gonna screw up and harm him somehow. I'm constantly worried that I'm not doing something right. D:

Hello,

I think overall the setup looks good. Does the tube bulb have a reflector around it in the fixture too? I couldn't tell from the picture. Which tube brand UVB light are you using?
The placement of 6 or so inches from him for the UVB is fine. I see that the basking light is placed directly beside the tube bulb which is correct, also. The basking light can be 8-12 inches away, no problem.
What are the temperatures reaching at the 7-8 inches now? The probe needs to be on or around where the hottest part of the basking area is, to measure the hottest part. Then you can measure where he sits mostly, too just to get an idea of temperature ranges. Leave the probe sitting for at least 15-20 minutes to allow it to fully measure & register the temperatures properly.

No reflector, just the bulb. I'm using the Reptisun 10.0.

Ok, so I placed the probe directly under the basking light right on the log and it quickly went up to 121! It stayed at that temp so I freaked out and lowered the log, still too hot. I went out and purchased a 75w bulb (originally had a 100w) and it's been at about 105. Is that an ok temp?
