Is My Beardie Ok?

I know this probably has to do solely with him preparing to shed, but nonetheless, we're worried and figured we'd ask the forum. Our dragon has just been sulking on his perch lately, and he's not even making an effort to get into the direct basking area. He's still eating, but he's not nearly as active lately. Just laying in one spot all day. I've heard that the thickness of their tail is a good indicator of their overall health, but I don't really know what I'm looking at, so here's a pic-

Sorry about the quality of the picture, it's a cell phone shot. You can see the areas of his skin that are gray and about to shed.

They can have off days especially during pre-shed and shed.
