is my beardie brumating?

Hi guys,

I just got my beardie and heard a bunch about brumation and was wondering if mine is doing that because for 1. he's not eating as much since yesterday, and 2. all he wants to do is sleep. He gets so tired so fast. Like right now it's only 11:36 am, I took him out his cage so he could run around and stuff. But he's been literally in the same spot, falling asleep.

Is this brumation? or something else?

the pet store told me 1 year, but he is too small to be a year. I was told elsewhere he could be between 4-6 months, since he's only 10.5 inches minus part of a tail.

Then he is much too young to brumate. What lights do you have? Both UV and heat. Also, could you give me any other info? Like terrarium size, food, food size, temps, thermometer, etc.

I have both UV and Heat. I don't know the size of the terrarium, maybe you could see in the image. But we just upgraded his tank, so it's much roomier now than before. the temp is around 95-105. his food size is small, i cut em up into pieces so he could eat them better. his foods include calabasa squash (his fav) collards and crickets. Sometimes he'd eat other stuff like corn, green pepper, and apples. But his main are his squash, collards and crickets.

he also don't eat in his tank, in case you're wondering because of the substrate and sand. I feed him on my kitchen counter.

Even if you don't feed him in there, REMOVE IT IMMEDIATELY. That stuff is HORRIBLE. Use something else, like reptile carpet, paper towels, slate tile. Also, what are the dimensions of the terrarium? It looks pretty tiny to me. You will want AT LEAST, for the very bare minimum, a 40 gallon breeder, but anything bigger is better. Your food sounds good, but how big are the crickets? Nothing bigger than the space between his eyes. Also, it looks like your UV is a coil bulb. Please change that to a ReptiSun 10.0 tube, not compact. This is it:

That might fix your problem entirely just by changing your UV.

Yeah, I'll was planning on buying the carpet soon and the crickets are small, yes. His old tank for 40 gallon and that too small, this is way bigger imo but it's probably the image i guess. I don't know the size because we bought it from someone else, there wasnt no box with it. But yeah, i'll def look into buying a new uv bulb if it'll help Sagers thanks so much for ur help!

Your welcome Maybe it was just the hight that threw me off into thinking it was small.
