Hi I decided to face the hardest part of owning a beardie today. the end. I wanted to see if there was anything I might be able to pick up and learn from the memorials part of the site.

Is the pain of losing your beardie worth it?

I cried just from reading one. I am kind of scared of what it will be like to lose my own.

Yes. I lost one but the time I had with her was amazing. The time I have with my new beardie is amazing too, but different.

They are amazing creatures, don't lose the opportunity to find out for yourself.

I to have lost one and, I think of her often. I agree with SpacialCoogs on this one. Kinda reminds me of a Garth Brooks song "The Dance".
Our lives are better left to chance,
I could have skipped the pain
But i,da had to miss the dance.
Don't miss out on the experience because of what will happen at the end. Memories are golden.

I recently lost Puff who was a wonderful affectionate boy (beardie) who we had from 5 weeks old to about 3 years old (had an aneurism and never woke up after major surgery to treat it) was heart broken over his loss.

Also recently lost our little but much loved and very old lady eastern water skink (she was about 7-8 years old of died in her sleep of old age) she was very very special and super affectionate and again I was shattered over her loss..

You never forget your pets , loosing this is like loosing a child and it takes a long time not be able to remember them without your eyes getting watery.

They have a knack of getting close to you and becoming very important parts of the family.

answer = YES

I lost my boy, Gonzo, just a few weeks ago. I adopted him and my Evee girl from the local SPCA just in June. Was it worth it? Absolutely, no doubt in my mind I gave him the best last few months of his life and I don't regret it one bit! It ripped my heart out to have to put him down (his kidneys went on him and there was no cure for it), but I know I did the right thing by him. His quality of life was no longer there and I my standard is that they must have quality of life. I have worked for months to get Evee healthy - she does have quality of life and that is why I keep trying.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this {{{HUGS}}} It is never easy, but it is always worth it.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
