hey all! its been quite some time since ive been on here, but i have a few questions. Lenny is now 1 year and 5 months. He didnt brumate last winter because he was too young. But is it it possible its time? for the last week or so he has been walking to the cool side of his tank and laying down on this flat rock i have in his tank through out the day. I keep putting him on his basking spot because he starts to feel cold. Should i make some sort of shelter and let him be? this is my first beardie, and will be my first time dealing with brumation. not too sure of what to do or expect. some help would be appreciated

thanks!

Yeah Darwin's starting to go down too. He's spending 80% of his time on his cool side napping. I'm preparing a shoebox for him to use as a hide but I want to make sure he gets one last good poop before I let him brumate for good. Get ready for a slow winter without your beardie! This, coincidentally, tends to be the time of year a lot of other people consider getting a new beardie... :D

Okay, I'll start making a hide for him. I read that article before posting this actually. Just still curious as too how often to wake him, or to attempt to feed him. I bathe him usually every other day, he only goes poop once, maybe twice a week. He hasn't been big on eating last few weeks. And at night we usually put towels in, lay him on there and cover him with a small baby blanket, so I was going to line his hide with a towel, but do I need to worry about keeping him warm at all? I do have a CHE

Ra is down right now, has been for bout 6 Weeks.this is what I do. I'll take him out 1 maybe 2 times a week to soak him, offer food if he eats he usually does then pull out his hide for a while so he has to warm up to digest. Most of the time he poos as well. Some Weeks he comes out on his own to bask and look for food. Its important not to let them go completely down with food in the system they can get sick. I'm lucky ra does not go completely down and pass out for Weeks on end. If yours is like mine you have to" force bask" so the food does not rot. Like the above post said be careful or you'll get board and get another lizard if you let you guard down lol........happen to me and I now have a gecko lol

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
