Is it safe to put two adult BD's in the same enclosure?

I have always wanted a bearded dragon and I just had a couple fall into my lap that really need help, especially one. The second one seems to be undernourished but pretty good. She's alert and pretty active and ate very good yesterday. She (Blazer) seems to be slightly malnourished and dehydrated.

The VERY sick dragon (I named him Pilot) was COMPLETELY white yesterday. He was and still is not moving. He's just too weak. I visited a friends home and was so saddened by what a saw. This was several months ago and he was white but not all bones like he is now. This past week I was there again and was so mad at myself for not asking if I could care for them sooner because what I saw was frightening. Seeing my concern, they asked if I wanted the two of them. I think they were happy to not have the responsibility.

Is it safe to put them in a 40 gallon breeder together?

Any suggestions would be SO appreciated.

Thanks SOO much,
Randi

I think pretty much everyone on here will back me when I say that one dragon to an enclosure is the best way to go. Dragons are solitary creatures. I'm actually going to buy backing for my viv on three sides because my boy gets upset lately when he sees the dragon in the glass. Dragons housed together hurt each other and it can be a serious hurt. It isn't worth taking the chance.

Check the ER section there is currently a perfect example of why 2 beardies can't live together. One ripped the others leg off. The cost of a second cage is much less than what the vet visits would cost to fix a hurt dragon.

Thank you for your replies! I think I'm going to post another question about the the lighting. I got the best of everything I could for them but if I need a second set-up (my kitchen table's gonna love this! :banghead: lol) The second set-up can't be. I just don't have another, almost 400 bucks. So, I'll get another 40 gall breeder but I'm going to have to get just a heat bulb and use the flourescent tube on it. Now I have the mercury vapor light ith the tube (which isn't hot enough (doesn't even get to 90 degrees :( ) When I get the second set-up today, would the sick one be better off with the mercury vapor light? Does it matter? I know I need to get more heat in there, with that light. I do have a 75 watt black bulb by repta-sun. I got it because my house is very cold at night because of the airconditioning but ended up getting a ceramic heat bulb too (which I as told is bad at night cause it keeps them up anyays) I can not believe what bad information I get from these pet stores!! I even asked 4 different ones about the heating and housing them together!!! :!: :!:

Yes, I do keep it very cold in here

I noticed that with just the ceramic heater it only gets to 74 degrees. I don't know if I can find a second one for tonight cause the first was so hard to find :|

thrid thing is these reptiles are soooo tuff they can go below 65 at night no body will recomened it and niether am i but my buddy kept his in his garage 1 time and he forgot about them for like a week and that was in the middle of winter probably got in the 30's at night but i would not do it lemmme repeat myself i dont now recomend doing this at all need less to say i have my buddys dragons now lol and they dont get below 68
1 more thing if u have a sick dragon u need the bare usentialls in the cage a basking spot and a food and water bowl thats about it and i would put paper towels down for him to poo on because it will bake it a lot eaiser to clean when he does or she does go poo u should clean the whole cage top to bottom with heathy habitat cleaner it safe for reptiles heres a link to what it looks like http://www.petmountain.com/product/terrarium-bacteria-cleaners/504976/natural-chemistry-reptile-healthy-habitat.html this is what i would do if i was u i hope everything works out for u and i wish u the best

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
