I think my 75 gallon tank is ready for a Bearded resident, but I just want to double check. I will try to take pictures after I type this but here's what I have:
A finished, homemade rock platform for basking, non-adhesive liner as the substrate, a shallow bowl for veggies, a Reptisun 10.0 24" bulb placed inside the tank at an appropriate distance away, two hallogen bulbs on domes: one 60watt on the cooler side and a 75watt on the basking side. My Accurite thermometer says that the basking spot sits between 100 and 110degrees. The cold side I can read only at the bottom of the cage since it only has the two probes on the thermometer. It sits at 79 degrees but I think it has to be at least 85 up on the platform. Both bulbs are hooked to dimmers so I can turn them down as needed. The cool side is on as hot as it goes. We have the lights hooked to a digital timer and we've checked. They turn on at 7:30am and off at 7:30pm.
I have three different kinds of dusting vitamins ready to go. I believe they are all by Reptivite: a multivitamin, calcium w/o D3 and calcium w/D3. We plan on darkening three sides of the tank before bringing a BD home.
Anything you think I should change? Add? Take away? Thanks in advance!
