Is it normal

My bearded dragon has started to act strangely. Last week he would run up to the glass and wave his arm I didn't think much of it but this week and late last week he has been running into the glass and clawing at it. He is about 13 inches from head to the end of his tail some people say he may need a bigger tank right now he is currently in a 20 gallon what do you think I should do??

He needs a least a 40 gallon if not more space. Does he get out to run around ?

Yes. He gets at least half an hour but always tries to jump back in his cage. He isn't mean but he isn't the most social if he wants to get out it's usually to explore the room and doesn't really like to be held but he does like to ride on my shoulder, I'll probably get a 40 or 50 gallon tank asap. I really don't want him to be uncomfortable.
