well im a new dad and well this is my first time with a bearded dragon I used to have 2 iguanas and a corn snake.
I only had her for 4 days now and well i feared she was impacted when i bought it because she didnt pooped in 3 days but she went today.Anyway she love to stay on one spot and not move as mutch .
my baskint temp is 107 and the cool is 86. I feed her crickets but she doesnt even try to hunt them she just waits for them to come to her. I dont know if she thinks she is a diva or something but she seem aware and alert everytime i come into the room and she doesnt try to run when im going to grab her but Id seen so many videos of baby bearded jumping arroud all their tank I dont know if she is just so relax that she doesnt want to move mutch unless i stimulate her to move or she is having some special needs. :study:

Give her a few days to adjust to her new home.
Probably re-location stress .
You wiil probably notice a big change in a week or 2
Question
What size is you viv /tank
How are you measuring temps?
What type of uvb bulb are you using?

My beardie was not active at all the first few days, or maybe even the first week. Especially when I was watching her. She would wait til I was gone and then move around the tank. They will just take a while to get used to their new enclosures and you.

Today she seemed social I took her out of the tank and place her on my bed and she started walking around and jumping frombed sheet to pillow to conforter and she seemed to like it alot becuase she kept doing it over and over doing the same cycle
so i guess she is doing better now I thunk she gets bored in the tank ( i would to its pretty lame)

Hehe, don't worry -- no one's tank could be lamer than mine right now (I will get more ornaments at some point. We just have crappy availability for those things here). All I have is a piece of wood, and 2 rocks. And my substrate is black shelf liner, a foamy type of material. Looks ugly, kinda (I'm used to it now), but it has a soft feel and absorbs heat well without getting too hot. I think I will eventually put some tile over the top of it.

Hello
40 gallon tank good
Stick on thermometer no good they can be as much as 20 degrees off
Not sure where you're located but wal-mart has the accurite digital probe thermometer
for around 12 bucks ..Check the garden section where the sell the outdoor thermometers
you could stick it on the cool side and the probe on the warm side to get accurate measurements
I Hear on this sight the repti-glo bulbs have problems try a repti-sun 10.0 bulb instead.
You can buy them cheap at http://www.petmountain.com
i also used no stick shelf liner for substrate in my 40 gallon
If you would like something better go to home depot or lowes and buy 2 pcs of 18x18 slate tile
it actually measures 17 1/2 x 17 1/2 fits perfect no cutting
Hope this helps .
Keep us posted

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
