I have some dumb questions. First off what does it mean for a beardie to brumate. Is it like hibernating? I heard that breadies only brumate when they are ready to breed. I have had my beardie for two years and he has never even shown any signs that it wants to or is going to brumate. Is this a bad thing? Thanks for the help!

Brumating is like hibernation. Usually around fall is when most beardies show signs of wanting to, but it varies from beardie to beardie.

There is an article on the home page regarding brumation. I highly recommend reading it... it will probably answer most of the questions you have.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
