Is changing viv ok?

I just bought my new Beardie six days ago and hes starting to settled in to his new enclosure a little bit. His basking spot is only about four inches from my lights, so I want to replace the stick that I have in there with something a little shorter, is that ok since my beardies so new? Also what kind of basking light would you recommend, I don't think mine is powerful enough, and if I kept the stick in my viv and just moved it would that be ok since it's his favorite spot, or would he just stay on it no matter where it is.

Yes, changing the viv up, especially for improvement sis fine, in fact good if its an improvement. 4 inches from the light is a bit close so you should move the spot farther as you plan.

A 100 watt zoo med basking bulb should work fine. You can also use halogen flood lights, typically 50, 60 or 75 watts, with a dimmer which will provide more than enough heat. You need a dimmer to ensure that you can keep the temps cool enough. A 60 watt PAR38 halogen flood light can keep a basking spot over 100 degrees from over 2 feet away.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
