I have a baby bearded dragon, coming up to 10 weeks old. He loves his crickets and has an amazing appetite. As for greens, he hasn't really taken to leaves much yet. The only thing he really seems to like to eat is butternut squash. I hand feed him lots of grated pieces for his breakfast in the morning. he won't take from the bowl himself, but is quite happy to be hand fed
I recently read on a nutrition website that butternut squash is very good and can be fed daily, here's the link http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html, so naturally I was quite happy when I read this. However I have now heard conflicting information! My vets website has a care sheet and it says butternut squash (amongst some other things), is higher calorie and very nutritious, BUT, can reduce calcium availability and should only be fed in limited amounts.
Can anyone put my mind at rest? Am I doing the wrong thing by feeding him up on butternut squash daily?
