So i was poking around the web to try to find what might be wrong with my beardie, and a few sites came up with something called "yellow fungus". sadly, this matched the syptoms of my beardie, except for one thing, he seems to have no control of hims limbs. its very strange instead of walking, he kinda just flails about. but these article have said that the yellow fungus will turn black, check. and that it will cause them to be lethargic, check. he still eats and mives, just with no control at all. oh and the spots are on his back legs. so my questions are:

does anyone know anything more about this yellow fungus? is it transmittable to my other lizards and humans?
is it treatable?
what might be wrong with his legs?

Hello,
If you could post some pictures of your dragon, that would be helpful. Also, what type & brand of UVB light are you using, is it a fluorescent tube bulb or a compact/coil light?
How old is your dragon?
Do you give calcium supplementation as well?
It sounds like, just based on your description, that it could be metabolic bone due to lack of UVB exposure or calcium intake.
Yes, if your dragon does have yellow fungus, it is extremely contagious. I do need to see some pictures, please.

what I know is from one dragon I rescued a long time ago. IT SUCKS!!! what it looks like is skin that hasnot shed that turns yellow and then can begin to cause sores. it is like a really bad yeasty infection. you need to go to the vet asap and they will give you cream and probiotics and so on . untill then you can use monostat yeast infection cream and soaks with batidine ( sp)

What have you been doing about the fungus? I'm currently working with several dragons that have this lovely stuff. It's extremely cantagious and you should be using strict quarantine procedures with this or it will spread to other reptiles. It will not spread to cats and dogs unless their immune system is off. It is NOT contagious to humans. However it CAN kill your dragon if not properly cared for. Also i found out the hard way, hand sanitizer DOES NOT KILL this stuff, which is how i got several dragons with it. Oral meds can be really hard on these guys and i wouldn't advice using them unless the topical routine doesn't work. But you need to act quickly, this stuff spreads easily. Tell me if you've brought him to the vets or what you are doing to help him.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
