Introduction of Sparx and myself!

I figured instead of going into details about myself I'd just jump into how I acquired Sparx.

On September 7th, 2014 (a mere 16 days ago) a friend and myself decided to go to a Reptile Expo in hopes that I would find a Leopard Gecko companion. I know, I know - many of you are already bending over in pain because we all know where this is going. It gets worse, trust me. I did SO much research on Leopard Geckos and I was set - I had the cage setup and ready to go at home so all I needed was my companion and to purchase some feeder crickets at the show. So many vendors with so many beautiful selections to choose from, but luckily for me, my friend knew a gentleman with a booth (selling artwork) that pointed me in the direction of the most reputable breeders. Of course before settling on any one gecko I had to look at every booth and at every reptile. The vibrant Chameleons were captivating, the variety of snakes was astounding, the Bearded Dragons begging for attention (some were literally begging) - ADORABLE! After a couple hours of looking around I had to make my decision - I only had 45 minutes left until the expo would end. Our "guide" [the gentleman helping me find the reputable breeders] came over and asked me what I was thinking as I was going back through which geckos seemed the most "cuddly".
"You want a cuddly reptile?", he chimed. "Let me take you to a guy who will sell you a cuddly reptile."
My friend and I beamed with excitement as we were led to a table with containers filled with...yep, you guessed it, baby bearded dragons.
Seeing as I had worked in a pet store for a short while (although I'm no reptile expert), I knew the requirements for the geckos and beardies were substantially different. I'd need an UVB, different basking light, get rid of the heating pad...and the list continued. After weighing my options, I found myself holding and "bonding" with a baby beardie. Of course seeing as I'm here introducing a bearded dragon, I'm sure you all could piece together that I left with baby Sparx.

Sparx is a couple months old (2-3 months) as she's about 6" from head to tail. I want to say she's close to 3 months old, if not slightly older, seeing as I've had her for 16 days now. Unfortunately I was so wrapped up in the idea of getting a new companion that I didn't think to ask questions about her birthday or specific breed (although I'm pretty sure he said she's a Citrus Tiger - but don't strangle me if I'm wrong).

Anywhoo - I'm still learning a lot and have to still bombard the forums with a couple questions, so I'll cut this a bit short[er].

Bonding is going fairly well minus the fact she enjoys jumping off everything. However, this evening after her bath, she snuggled up in my hand and fell asleep which is a first ^-^

Okay - enough information. I'll show you guys pictures. Calm yourself and be ready for a small bunch of supreme cuteness!

Meet Sparx!

A couple days in the new home? Time to bask in full-glory mode.

Picture from bath time this evening. This is the look of, "Mom, I am so done with this. I want out right now."

Well, I hope you all enjoyed!

I did the same thing when I got my little one. If you got contact info (or maybe your friend can get it?) for the breeder they remember you from the show and be able to get you hatch date and lineage info.

My friend's friend (the gentleman that assisted me with finding all the reputable breeders) knows them - I'm pretty sure on a personal level so I'm trying to get in contact with him so he can either find out for me or at least give me their contact information.

What area are you from?
I got my baby, Watson from an expo in Abbotsford. Could be the same breeder.

The expo that we went to was actually in St. Louis :3

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
