Introduction Crystal, Karma and Zen

Hey guys... just found this forum and have already read a wealth of information!

My name is Crystal and I am from Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. I just got two baby bearded dragons 2 days ago and named them Karma & Zen. They are SOOO cute!

Right now my main concern is around their eating habits so I've been doing a lot of reading in that forum. I put 10 crickets in their terrarium last night but they didn't seem to show any interest at all! The crickets just seemed to hide in the paper towel "substrate". It seems that this may be normal because of some stress associated with their move to my house from what I've read though.

Anyway, Hi everyone and I am sure I will be asking lots of questions!

Now, how long before lights out, did you offer those crix ?
And are they smaller lengthwise then the distance between the kid's eyes ?

Also, you should be aware that dragons go through what is called "relocation stress". Handling should be kept to a minimum for around 2 weeks a month at most.

If you need any help with your lighting, heat, diets, or anything else, just give us a holler !

Actually, why don't you just go a head and list everything, brand name and type ( ie tube/coil/compact, digital, stick on, dial) You get the idea. This way we can correct quickly any bad advice you were given concerning their care!

I gave the crix about 6 PM and my lights go out at about 9 PM... was that enough time?

And are they smaller lengthwise then the distance between the kid's eyes ?

They may not be quite small enough, the babies are still pretty small (I haven't measured yet, but I will) and the crickets were the smallest I could get at the local pet store... at least some of them were small enough though.

I read about this on the forum here... I feel like a bad mom already, I've been petting the poor little guys multiple times a day... I stopped last night after I read about it though... hopefully that'll help them out. I feel so bad too, i read on here today that I shouldn't leave crix in the cage with them, but I came to work today and did... I hope they don't get bitten...

Well, I have a exo terra glass 18" cube terrarium (I know, I'll have to upgrade as they grow), I have the heater that sticks under the glass, right now I am using paper towel substrate, and I have a vine that they can crawl up to get close to the basking light. I have the 100W Sun Glo Tight Beam basking light (http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/sun_glo_tight_beam.php) sitting on the wire mesh top. That's it right now. From what I read on here I should have another light, this 10.0 type?
