I've owned Sparx for a couple months now and she's doing wonderfully - and of course, my friend ended up wanting a baby Beardie too. Well yesterday was our local Reptile Expo and a group of friends and I went. I was planning on getting either a Tokay or a Leopard Gecko and everyone else wanted to look. Upon having only 30 minutes of the expo left, my friend found a juvenile Beardie for only $30 and begged me to buy it for her. I told her I would if she would pay me back (I have my own blackhole to feed as well as rent, school and so on to pay for) and she promised she would.
*Sighs* After getting back to her apartment, her boyfriend told her absolutely not as they couldn't even afford UVB lighting for their tortoise and they couldn't begin affording a baby Beardie (especially after using my costs as an example). Luckily, I have two roommates who adore all my animals and especially have a soft spot for Sparx so I agreed to take this new boy in - and they are excited about the new addition.
Note to self: NEVER buy a friend something on a whim. If they aren't prepared to get it themselves, they do not need it (especially a living thing).
Meet my newest blackhole, Spyro (yes, Spyro and Sparx - I know, I know  ):
He's pretty handsome. I can't complain.
