Introducing new worms; wondering how many to offer per day.

I just ordered a beardie variety feeder package from the site I buy my beardie's food from. It came with some crickets and phoenix worms which she has been fed since she's been a baby. It also came with 100 medium sized mealworms, 50 superworms, and 50 waxworms. The superworms were a little bigger than I expected. They are about 2 inches long. My beardie is almost 8 months old and 15 inches long, so I was wondering if the superworms would be alright for her to eat. I have been feeding her crickets and phoenix worms ever since I got her as a baby. She also eats mustard greens whenever I have fresh ones. I've been trying to feed her more veggies lately than her crickets and worms because I know as they get older they should eat more veggies. My question is how often and how many per day that I should feed her these new worms. As of right now I usually give her a salad during the day and at night 10 phoenix worms and about 20 crickets. She ate a ton more when she was younger but now she's growing older and doesn't eat as much. :p I just bought this variety package for her to try something new, so if anyone can help me with my questions thanks in advance. :) I will include pics of the superworms for comparison.

My beardie next to a ruler. I measured from the tip of her nose to the end of her tail and she is exactly 15 inches long.

The general rule for superworms is no less than 16".
I'm not sure if you are, but just in case, I wouldn't feed her mealworms. They can cause impaction.

They don't usually eat as much live food as they do greens and veggies once they are a year or so older. I know my eldest, Jace, who is 15" as well and almost 6 months old eats about 5 horn worms, 3 butters, 2 wax(every three days), 3 silk, and about 20-40 phoenix worms a day.

I haven't fed her any of the new worms yet. I wanted to see what other people thought first before I did. I just fed her some phoenix worms and crickets earlier. Waxworms should be fed as a treat right? If so how often should I give her some?

A give mine 2 wax worms every 3 days. Reptiles find them to be very addicting.
I would wait that extra inch before feeding supers.

Alrighty. I just gave her 2 waxworms, she loved them. But I will wait until she's a little bigger to give her those supers. Should I not even bother about giving her the mealworms and just get rid of them?

I wouldn't bother with the mealworms due to impaction risks.
Phoenix, horn, butter, and silk worms are good staple worm feeders. Supers are good too once she hits that next inch. http://www.lindasgonebuggie.com is a really good site to get good deals on worms. You can also email Linda and ask for any substitutions. The pack I get she subs the wax out for butter.

Sampson is approx 8 months old and 17 inches. He eats everything in sight. He will eat anywhere from 60-75 crickets at a time, and would eat A LOT of supers if I would let him. He eats his salad every day and usually cleans his plate. The bad part is he usually poos on the plate afterwards! :puke: The rule of thumb for crickets is let them eat as many as they want in a 10-15 minute period.

Alright, thanks for the website referral, I will try it out next time around. :D Mine used to eat that many crickets too though, now she doesn't eat as many. I usually have to hand feed her the crickets otherwise she will just let them get away and they will get lost in the enclosure. She usually doesn't chase after them lol. She can usually eat about 40 in a sitting now.

Zandi, may I ask what package that you order from that site? I was taking a look at it, pretty good deals!

I get the adult beardie value pack2 since mine are too small for supers and have the wax replaced with butters.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
