I haven't stopped by for awhile and wanted to introduce our family's new beardie. We had a beardie before named Chomps who passed away the day after Christmas. He had serious issues with MBD when we bought him, but we didn't know it until it was very progressed. Chomps never grew past 7 inches at most and hand founde was 8 months old. When we lost him, my husband was very upset. He blamed himself for not taking care of chomps properly and I convinced him it wasn't his fault chomps was very sick when we brought him home. He received vet care, was fed phoenix worms after he developed a horrible fear of crickets and the night before we lost him he cuddled happily on my husband's chest for a long time.
I went out the same day and found a new baby beardie at the third store I went to. I think he's around 3 months old and is 8 inches long!! He is being fed phoenix worms since we had a run of horrible luck with crickets dying after 2 days. The difference is amazing between LB and Chomps. LB is constantly full of energy and loves to escape around the house. He runs and jumps around his enclosure. He plays in his water dish, scrubbing his back and sides. We never knew how active and full of life a beardie could be until bringing LB home.
