Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum in terms of posting but I've read most of what I needed to ever know about my beardie from this forum. First things first I have a citrus beardie named Smaug but his nickname is Homeboy (never really figured out why it just kind of stuck) but anyways I was curious as to how I can transport him to my new apartment on Saturday. It wouldn't be too much of an issue moving him but it won't be very warm out so I'd like some advice on how to transport him all of 10 minutes up the road without him getting too cold!

here's a couple pictures of him! He's just over a year old and I got him when he was about 4 months old from a local pet hotel / store. Never actually measured or weighed him but he looks healthy and about 18 inches!

Hi there....Smaug is such a beautiful orange color, and very healthy looking. :) I was trying to make out if he is a 40 g. tank on top of a dresser ? Or is that a large custom tank. If he's in a 40 g. tank and you can fit it in your back seat, then just eave him in it , but lay any tall cage furniture on it's side or take them [ basking logs, rocks ] until you get to the new apt. As long as your car is warm [ 75 will be fine, even a bit cooler ] then he will be fine. Beardies are shipped across country for 14 -16 hour journey's and it's usually around that temp. in the shipping box, so there's no danger whatsoever in that sort of temp. If you need to take him and his enclosure separately, just put him in a gym bag, pet carrier or even a large shoe box with a thick layer of newspaper on the bottom. He will be fine either way. :)

Awesome thank you, and it's the national geographic tank that's similar to the exo terra. It's a 50 gallon tank I believe. 36x18tx18w. But that makes it great to know, I was afraid the 50 degree weather would shock him.

You're welcome....as long as the vehicle that he is transported in is room temperature he'll be fine for a 10. minute ride. :)

Everything went smooth from what I've seen so far, let him explore after being settled for a couple days and he seems to like the blinds open for a little to look out.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
