intimidated by me

So my dragon ( Draco ) is about 6 months old and I have noticed that he has started staring me down as soon as I come in the door. I have a good sized beard and I am thanking he is intimidated by it. He is now puffing up his beard and gaping at me when I put my hand in his cage this has been going on for about a 2 weeks now. But he doesn't do this to my wife we haven't changed a thing as soon as I get home I always take him out for at least a hour. But now he runs and puffs up at me and he is still the great calm dragon with my wife. Has anyone had this problem? Or do I just sound crazy? Please help me I really do love him. What should I do?

continued..... I'm not afraid of him I know if he dose bit me it might hurt but I'm not afraid of that. When he does have his mouth open at me I continue to pet him and try to feed him wax worms I have even tried his favorite fruit ( blueberries ) but he won't have it. O and my wife was telling me he doesn't hold his mouth open ( like he is hot ) in tell I get home and he sees me then the rest of the night he has his mouth open and he stares at me in tell bed time. I really do think it is because of my beard.

It's possible that your beard is intimidating to him, but you can overcome that most likely. Continue to be gentile around him and not be afraid of him. Try putting a worm or piece of salad in his mouth when he opens it. I've found that can confuse them into changing their mood and will associate you with something good (food) after a while. It may take some time and patience but he'll likely come around after a while.

Ya as of right now he will just keep his mouth open even with a wax worm in his mouth. The worm will just crawl out. But ya I will continue to do as I am. Thank you

I read the post and it really cracked me up, same with my wife. LOL ROFL

Nothing for it, you'll have to buy a beard cover to hide your big bushy board , or get rid of your face-fungus.

Beardies - they are such characters ... doesn't help that he's entering his teenager stage and will have rampant hormones supercharging everything about now and for the next several months.

Yeah I am really hoping it's because he is becoming a teenager. I am still working with him a lot like last night I had hI'm out for about a hour. He will try and run and open his mouth at me but I just keep holding him and pet him then he will calm back down then out of no where he will get all excited again. Then my wife will hold him and he is all cool. But he has come along way. He doesn't hiss at me so I don't think he is aggressive just protectiv. So I am going to trim my beard tonight and see if that helps any. Thank you for reading and replying

Pop something yummy that you know is one of his favourate foods into his mouth each time (from the side) , and see if he changes his attitude towards you when this has been done for a while.

Hey - My beardies head nod at my foot when I've only got my black socks on and they are on the floor and in are blackbeard mode , when I am waving it up/down a bit when the leg is up on the chair to straighten out my injured knee. If I then arm wave back at them (just like a beardie) stops them in their tracks and they look back at me (often with the head on the side) most confusedly for a while. Beardies are funny buggers and when little pretty silly .

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
