*Infrared heat lamp question*

I recently bought a Exo Terra 50 watt infrared bulb for increasing overall temps in my viv. is this bulb going to be ok?i have had mixed
feedback on this topic... is this bulb ok for night use or could it be effecting on my dragons sleeping? SC South Africa

From the way you worded it, I'm not sure if you got it for nighttime or 24/7 use. During the day, he needs bright white light, so it's not good for him then. During the night, the light on him will keep parts of his brain active and he won't be able to sleep as deeply as he needs. If your temps are dipping below 60* F at night, then get a ceramic heat emitter, otherwise it's not nessisary to have any extras warming up the tank. 10-12 hours of cool down at night is good for them.

Thanks 4 da advice peera!ok so im going to change that light fixture out with a household bulb,any advice on what watt i should go 4?

That's completely dependent on the size and build of your tank. I use 75 watt bulbs on 2 of mine and that works out fine, but you might have to go higher or lower depending on your tank.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
