Infertile Egg laying question?

Hi all,

I have a female beardie who is 18 mos. She digs constantly but is definitely not gravid. I thought she may have infertile eggs but I can't feel any in her tummy. So I gave her a lay box but nothing yet. She just digs away... Is it possible she is just a digger? Or is digging exclusive to eventual egg laying.

How long has she been digging and does she do it for hours on end? Its not always possible to feel eggs in a gravid dragon, best to leave the box with her for awhile.

my female dug around on and off for about 2weeks before she layed her eggs in the laybox. So give her time and just keep offering the lay box. With my female i had to dig a hole for her and show her it. didnt work at first but a week later she layed them.

Yeah it does seem as though she has been digging for a long time. I put her in the laybox yesterday and she dug a hole and sat in it for a few hours then came out. But no eggs. She seems relaxed now though. If she starts digging again I will put her back in. I did introduce her to a male awhile back but he did not mate her. Is it possible that the eggs maybe fertile and if so can I tell from just looking at the eggs?

If the eggs are fertile they will be nice and round and white, you can pick them up with out them having a dent in them. The infertile eggs will be limp and small and kind of a yellow tint to them, and they will dent in when you try and pick them up.
