inexpensive lighting ideas please?

Hi all. I've had my beardie for about a year now, and have been buying all his lighting from the PetSmart store. I know there must be an inexpensive alternative to this... can anyone help me? Just wondering where I could find the uvb lighting, and heat lights elsewhere. We're in Canada - which might pose a few differences... but just knowing that I could do anything better will help. Thanks!!

For heating you can use a normal household bulb, doesn't get much cheaper then that. Just make sure that it gets you to the temperatures you need.

For uvb, there isn't really any alternative, you need the reptisun 10.0 tube or the arcadia 12%. I'm not from Canada so unfortunately I can't recommend a site that ships to Canada but I'm sure someone will chime in.

I had been shopping for uvb at petsmart and never even looked at the local little exotic pet store because I assumed their prices would be higher. When I accidentally broke one of the bulbs in January and got into a pinch, I was stunned to find that the small little local place ended up being cheaper than petsmart. Never would have expected that, but the lesson is to always check everywhere. You know what they say about assuming.
