I'm Soooooo Sad...............

I had a accident with Raja... somehow in the middle of the night she got out of her cage, I live in a small studio apartment.. She is gravid and I been looking for her for 3 days.. I turned up everything and can not find her anywhere... I live on the 3rd floor and there was a window slightly cracked but if she jumped she wouldn't have made it.. I don't know where she is at... And I miss her terribly, she do to lay again anytime... it is just like she had disappeared in thin air...

How would she have gotten high up on to a window ledge? She is probably curled up in a tiny place somewhere. I had one of mine disappear for about three days once and he was hiding inside the bottom of my couch. Make sure you look even in the places you would never think she would be.
I once knew of a girl who found here dragon curled up inside a winter boot in the closet she never wore after about a month.
Don't give up and keep looking. If she was ready to lay she most likely found a warm dark corner somewhere.

That is my problem I don't know where else to look.. My couch has a hide a bed in it.. Never seen her any where in there though...

Hi Tacey, sorry to hear your little girl is missing
Don't give up... keep looking. As jortiz said, they can get into some tight places. You would be surprised at where they can hide. You literally have to go through your entire apartment with a fine tooth comb. Do you have any openings in your baseboards or cabinets she could have crawled behind?
Leave nothing unturned. She is more than likely in a spot you would have never thought she could be.

wouldn't she come out by now? i looked everywhere i could think of under the fridge and stove I tore everything upside down... this is so not like her, she was always able to be found I live in a tiny studio apartment there is not many places she could be.. And i looked everywhere i do the same routine every day... and nothing.. I'm a bad mommy

You are not a bad mommy...it just means that she has found a spot to hide that you haven't found yet. It doesn't make you a bad mommy, it makes her a good hider. Can you somehow set up a "basking spot" in the middle of the main room of your apartment? Like a pillow in the middle of the floor with a bright light above it, and just leave it on all the time for now? perhaps she will notice it and come over to it to bask.

No, your are not a bad mommy, at all!
You can set up a basking spot as mentioned. The only problem is... since she has been out for a while, her body temperature has dropped. So her body has shut down so to speak. She is more than likely fast asleep somewhere and probably will probably not wake to come out of hiding.Unfortunately, you will have to find her.
Have you tried turning up the heat in your apartment to try and wake her?
Please, don't give up looking and don't get discouraged. She is there, you just have to find her.
Is it possible she could have got to the open window?

Sorry to hear your beardie went missing. I, too, had 'lost' a beardie for 3 days. Where I finally found him was a spot that was physically impossible for him to squeeze into -- or so I thought. He had crawled under a shelf that had slightly under an inch of space from the floor. I couldn't even get my hand under it to touch him. He was also right over a vent, therefore very warm and comfy from the heat :roll:

What I learned from my previous two troublemakers is that the best way to search for hiding beardies is at night w/a flashlight. This way you'd be able to see shadows casted by objects that may be too small to be easily seen.

If there are open boxes or bags, she could've crawled in there as well (almost threw out a beardie quietly napping in an empty box sitting by the trash can). Also, if you had an open closet at the time of her disappearance, look in between clothes. I had one that made a basket of sweaters into his very own super duper comfy bed :roll: :roll:

I even went as far as went to the dumpster because the day she was missing i took out trash and I actually tore the bags open to make sure.. The window was cracked my friend had boxes of yarn close to there if she got out the window she would have had to climbed the boxes but like i said i am 3 flights up and the fall would have most likely killed her...I just cant find her not where else for her to hide i searched everywhere....

Sorry you can't find your girl. I saw a video on youtube of a beardie who somehow got under the cabinets in the owners kitchen. It took them a while to get her out, but thankfully she was still alive. As the others have said, don't lose hope and keep looking in places where she could never be because chances are good she'll prove to that she could get in there! Good luck, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thnks it has been 4 days now and she is due to lay any minute.. It just hard since I live in a small space and can't find her no where.. I even tried to let my male out to see if he could smell her out .... She is my first baby, I miss her so....

Oh my goodness I am so sorry to hear that. I am sure you know this or it was said but think about her size and look everywhere she could fit! Look in shoes, shirts,pants and under everything! Also look around and see if she could of climbed on and up something. Look under beds any holes or pillows. Don`t give up!

Are you sure you have looked in every nook and cranny? They are like little houdini's and can fit in some very tight spaces.
Have you looked up as well? I have heard of beardies climbing to the tops of curtains as well.
Do you have any clothes on the floor she might be in?
Have you checked for openings around the floor, baseboards, walls that she could get into?

I looked and looked, I can't find ...... And the hard part if I don't find her by next week they are coming in my apartment and turning every room to 500 degrees all day...
