I'm pregnant. . . and she's not happy.

Greetings all.

Has anyone experienced a complete mood change in their dragon since becoming pregnant (you, not the dragon)? I've tried researching this a bit, but had no luck. I'm guessing that perhaps my scent has changed, or the hormones that I give off? Or maybe she just doesn't like me as much anymore? I have no idea, but trying to figure this out. She doesn't puff up or bite, but she seems to be nervous or on edge around me now.

sometimes they have phases she might be going into a shed or coming out of one? i dont think anything changes with pregnancy although i cant confirm or deny lol

You may be right. It's not exactly the same thing, but there's ample evidence that iguanas can detect and respond to human women's hormone changes. (See http://www.anapsid.org/iguana/season.html) If iguanas can sense hormone changes, then it seems possible that beardies can, too.

Thanks guys. I gave her a bath yesterday, and she still trusted me enough to come towards me for safety. . . so I suppose that is a step in the right direction. I'll just keep being super patient and reassuring!
