I'm getting my 2nd beardie on Wednesday and .......

I was wondering how to slowly introduce them . Do I show one thru the glass and watch for aggression? They are 5 & 6 months.They are only 1 month apart but I don't know how big she really is. She was the runt of the clutch. Should I keep them a part until she has a vet check?

I'm so excited. I also feel funny about bringing in another. I don't want Harley to feel jealous.
I'm curious to see how their personalities will differ. Harley is so laid back and loves being in his viv. He never shows any of the arm waving , head bobbing, or glass dancing that yours do. He just relaxes all day and loves his food.
I'm hoping she's more lively. I guess I better be careful what I wish for. Wednesday is taking forever. I hate looking at an empty viv. Just like when you set up the baby's crib and you imagine them in it.

I wouldnt introduce them atol not the best idea imo, but are they the same size???what sex???

Are you planning on housing them together? Not a grand idea. Without a doubt you want to keep them apart, I think the norm for quarentine is 6 months. Just in case as a precaution. But housing them together can cause all sorts of problems. I know they say that males with males will be territorial, but I had a male be territorial with a female too. Also you need to be careful that she doesn't get pg to early. You will comprimise her growing bones. And, just having them in sight of each other could cause problems. Your male will want to mate with her and he could become agressive toward you in turn, or not be interested in anything other then her. It is a natural born instinct that is (funny to watch) so strong. I simply put card board between tanks. Once my husband finished their melamine cages I wont have to deal with cardboard. : )

On a lighter note...where did you get your beardie from? What is she...red phase, citrus, leucistic? Post pixs!!

Maybe I wasn't clear. They both have a 4x2x2 viv and they will not be breeding at anytime. I just want them to be able to hang out for excercise time. I let Harley run around in my walk in closet and explore and I would like them to be able to do it at the same time or bathe together in a container so I don't have to do it seperate.
So I guess I will just slowly intro them from a distance and see how it goes. They will both have a vet check before they get close to eachother.

I would love to hear how others do it.
I know when I brought in a new dog we intro them at the park while they played and then brought the new one into the home.

I still dont know if I would suggest it. I dont even bathe my females and males together. My females I do together, and am really nervous when I do. I wouldn't want to chance that my male get my female to soon, or at all if I weren't planning to breed.

I would think that if you were to do it, you might want to hold one while the other is in the same area. That way you are in control and can move. Dogs are friendly toward each other (sometimes) by nature, but Dragons are solitary creatures in the wild. I read somewhere (might of been here) that mothers dont stay to rear their young and would probably eat one of her own babies if she were to come upon it in the wild. Just be very cautious. You wouldn't want a vet bill, and I am sure it would be a heftly one at that.
