Thanks, I don't like this giving him meds that make him feel so bad.
I think I was seeing results from the other antibiotic I was giving him, I may switch him back.

BTW no one has told me how often to give the Baytril, how many days in a row or anything to that effect. :?:

I wish I knew anything that could help you but I don't have the information. I would switch back if the other stuff seemed to give you better results. Is their a big difference between the two meds?

Hi michael. I have spent all morning figuring this out.
At a dose of 5mg/kg, Ifrit should be getting 0.029 mls per day for 7-10 days.
I'm not sure though ifhe shouldn't getting 10mg/kg dose in which case it would be 0.057mls per day. Did Tracie tell you the recommended dose for this?

Tracie did recommend pretty much the same dosage however didn't give me how many days in secession to give the medication. I am confused however on this dosage. If the medication is 10% versus 5% shouldn't the 10% be less of a dosage then the 5%? Or am I looking at something wrong? Also you give both strengths for the same number of days?

The dose is worked out as either 10mg/kg or 5mg/kg. The concentration is 10% which means 100mg/ml
To work out the amount Ifrit should be getting, you multiply the dose by his weight in kg then divide by the concentration of the solution. So 10x0.57/100.
If it was a 5% solution, then he would get 0.11ml per day.
I checked it with Kazi's last baytril prescription with a 2.5% solution and it seems to work out and I checked the dosing recommendations on my baytril insert.
7-10 days is the usual duration of baytril. My own vet usually doubles the dose so it is only given every other day but lasts for 20 days.

He is eating, 4 butterworms and a hornworm, I didn't give him anymore even though he would have ate them. I need him to start eating his salad.
