your humitity is at 60%? thats not good. i hear it supposed to be 30% or under?!? do you have a water dish in his tank? if so take it out! hopefully someone with better knowledge will assist you in a better way!

He could have a very serious respiritory infection. I suggest taking him to a vet ASAP. Those humidity levels could likely kill him.

Can I ask who told you to put a water dish in there, and/or how you measured humidity? Also why on earth you though a arid desert dweller would need AN humidity?

What are you checking the humidity and the temps with?

If you aren't checking your humidity with a digital device, you might find that your humidity is lower than whatever device you are using now. The dial hygrometers are just as inaccurate as the dial thermometers.

You are measuring temps with a digital device correct?
And what uvb bulb do you have?

If there is a walmart near you, you can pick up a great digital thermometer. It even reads the humidity!

It's called the acu-rite digital thermometer with probe, and its only about 12$.

The challenge is finding it at walmart lol. No workers no where it is, and it seems to be in different places at each walmart.

Some find it in the outdoor section, I found it in aisle that had pellet guns, slingshots, and shotgun shells lol.

Sounds like you are making some progress. :D :D It's really hard and overwhelming at first to learn and understand how to properly care for a beardie. They are supposedly 'beginner' reptiles, but what kind of beginner really gets it? By that I mean, you have to make a desert-type envoironment in a glass tank. That's pretty hard in my opinion. Just saying that so you know you are not the only person in the world struggling with this. I was there, too.

Anyhow - the thermometer...! The 'unit' would go all the way on the cool side of the tank. The 'indoor' temp is the temp right there at the unit. It will register the cool side. The 'outdoor' temp is wherever the little sensor at the end of the cord is placed. It has a flat side (the sensor) that is a peel-off paper and under that peel-off paper is a self-adhesive sticky place. Some people peel that off and stick the probe down, and some don't. Put the probe exactly where your beardie lounges under the basking light. Those basking lights (most of them) focus the heat into a 'spot light' kind of place, so make sure the sensor is at the very hottest area under the light, so you get the most precise temp. You can tape it in place with the adhesive side down, just to make it stay. Of course, take Mr. Be Bop out of his tank so he doesn't disturb the probe. Leave it there for at least 30 minutes, come back and see what that 'outdoor' temp registers!

The whole unit always stays in the cage, that way you know what's what 24-7.

Your humidity is still pretty high. We shoot for 35% but my vivs in my bedroom run at 40%. Why is it so humid in there...? Do you have a fish tank? Is he near the bathroom or other water source? Do you have a mini-fridge or something like that near by...?

You have a new ReptiSun 10.0 UVB, right?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
