I think my Bearded dragon Might be hurt and dying

i too am doing the same thing ( wrong lightning )mine was almost dead really limp now he don't use his front paws they are swollen and turned in . iam so mad at the pet store my son bought Izzy (my Dragon) with his own b-day money
We were told the same thing that all we needed was two lights and we had the same as you i am a single mom with not a lot of money so i am trying to get stuff alittle here and there we weren't giving him any vitamins and no greens just crickets and meal worms i think these pet stores shouldn't sell these beautiful creatures unless someone there know what they are doing we got izzy in aug he was 3 months old he has lost so much weight then he couldn't breath i did find a vet she gave him baytril and this stuff in case he had a parasite the antibiotics seem to be helping but his little paws look like they hurt what can i do ????? Please Help Someone

Hello,

What was your dragon put on Baytril for? What is the dosage he is on currently? Did he have a respiratory infection? Was he treated for parasites with Baytril?
Are you now using the correct UVB light? What type & brand of UVB are you using, is it a flourescent tube light or a compact or coil light?
What type of basking light are you using, a bright white light or a colored light?
Do you supplement with calcium as well?
Is he eating currently, on his own or are you assist feeding him?
Can you post a picture of him so I can see his hands & feet? Are ALL of them swollen up?
I would begin oral hydration immediately on him. Try to get at least 4-6 ml's of fluids into him every day with a plastic dropper or a syringe.

she said he had labored breathing and he was dehydrated i am using a 25w coil it was by zoo med it is a uvb also a red bulb 100w at night to keep him warm also he is sticking his tongue out a little now what else am i doing wrong is he dying ill send pics tonight i am giving him .01 baytril once a day she gave me a two week supply alos giving him a calcium /vit d powder w/ his pedyalyt .03 every 3-4 hrs he will only eat cabbage now he wont eat anything hasn't pooped in almost two weeks no she gave other stuff for parasites only two sringes of that filled .05 he seemed a little more perky during the day every time i move him to get his medicine he closes his eyes at me is he mad at me but when he is in his cage he looks at me but looks so sad

hello, ok the coil or compact bulbs are extremely dangerous, you NEED a flourescent tube UV bulb, the best is the reptiSUN 10.0, please do not confuse with the reptiGLO 10.0 though.

also a red bulb 100w at night to keep him warm
ok beardies cannot sleep well with any colour light, it has to be complete dark for them to sleep well, a beardie who has disruptive sleep for a prolonged period will have some problems, if your temps are not dropping below 65f then you need no light at all but if they are then please invest in a ceramic heat emitter, they give off heat only and no light whatsoever.

yes pictures may help, cant wait to see. you need to supplement calcium 5-6 days a week and multi vitamins 1-2 days a week, its not recommended to give with both calcium and multi-vits combined as those kind of products dont normally have enough calcium in them. try him with numerous different greens, fruits and veg (nothing at all with citrus in it though), butternut squash has proved quite favourable with picky eaters and its apparently quite nice for beardies so try that. cabbage i dont think is the best thing for them to eat but im not overally sure on that.

have you tried giving him warm baths? if not then place him in the sink or container or even the bath, fill with baby-warm water up to their armpits and if the swimming sensation or water still doesnt make them go a poop then try massaging him gently from his right armpit to his vent and that works with mine every time.good luck with him and keep us posted
