Squash is great. You can also get some chicken baby food to mix in with it for some protein. Hope she starts to eat for you and that you can get a fecal soon to see about parasites.

Well I got her the 40 gal today also got her squash and chicken with vetagables baby food. Have a vet apt tomorrow morning. I just hope that she makes it thru the night. Her eyes r back n dunk in she won't open them except when she moves which is rare :/

this is her before she started getting sick. compare these two, she's lost a lot of weight :/ i hope she makes it through the nite. I tried feeding her baby food she wont lick it off i gave her a bath so i hope that helps some.

But I have seen worse cases pull through and make it. There is always hope.

Do you mind if I ask where you got her? Also, how long you've had her and how old was she when you got her?

I got her from petxp about 3/4 weeks ago so I'm not sure how old she is . And yea I know I'm hoping she pulls thru.

I noticed in another thread you said you were using the compact coil Reptisun? That might be the root of your problem. They have been known to cause these exact symptoms! (going off food, lethargy). You need the Reptisun 10 tube.


I would also suggest that you stay away from Petco animals. You have obviously had bad luck with them all along. That's just the going standard for pet store animals, I'm afraid to say.

Let us know what the vet says today!

I'm really sorry to hear this. I was afraid from her pictures that she wouldn't last long.

Please don't give up. I know it hurts a lot right now, but some day you will feel that void where a beardie has been missing and you'll want to fill it again. At that point, please consider browsing the for sale section of this site. You are guaranteed to find a wide selection of beardies at a reasonable price that will be much, much healthier than an animal you'll find at Petco or Petsmart or any chain pet store.

Losing these beardies was NOT your fault. They were sold sick and too young and they didn't have a chance.

When you are ready please consider getting another one, but not from a pet store!!!! They only consider them as a profit and sell them no matter what shape, age they are in!!! When you are ready check out the folk here who are selling.

i was with my mom. and we had to go to petco for dog food. i knew better than to go. well i ended up at the bearded dragon section.....i couldn't help myself! this beardie was calling my name. he/she came running to the glass when i went over and would follor my finger. so yeah i gave in and bought another beardie from petco. good news is that these babies seem a lot bigger than what lilly was when i got her and healthy. i am making vet apt for next week to get fecal and checkup......am i stupid for getting another so soon?

also...this is her first poop, does it look normal? it looks weird to me but it might just be because of its in the water.

If you still have that coil Reptisun, you should probably turn it off and replace it with a tube ASAP. The best price I have found is at Pet Mountain. Reptisun 10.0 If you don't have a fixture, you can get a 24" fixture meant to mount under cabinets at Wal Mart for about $8-9.

Im really sorry to hear about your beardie but happy to see you brought another into your home. He looks really healthy and so does his poop. Its well formed and not mushy. Definetly go with the reptisun tube from petmountain. You cant get it anywhere else cheaper than $40 and its good to see that you got a 40gal tank, that should last him a good while

Ok, good. Actually, I think a beardie would be better off without UVB than to be exposed to those bulbs, knowing the problems they have caused.

I think the poop looks okay. She may be a tad dehydrated since the urates were very small. And I'm sure she's just pooping out whatever crap they fed her at the pet store, so when you get her on a better diet, it will start to look better.
