Okay so i bought mass amounts of phoenix worms.. and i didn't want them to turn into adults so i read somewhere to put them in the fridge and they will stop growing/eating.. i did the same thing with my hornworms because they were getting way to big and Pepper wouldn't touch them.

Well i had them in the fridge over night.. and i took them out and i think i killed them.. i feel like maybe they just went into a hibernation type deal and will wake up soon?

I just wanna know before i have to order more..

A fridge is too cold for phoenix worms.
You can store phoenix worms in a wine fridge to keep them longer, since wine fridges don't get as cold.

I don't know about the hornworms though, never had bought any.

I thought so.. i did it without even thinking. :(

If they don't wake up, that's 300 phoenix and 20 hornworms down the toilet. :(

They might wake up if they were only in there overnight. From what I read it would take a couple of days for them to die.

For the hornworms, it says on one of the hornworm sites that you can leave them in the fridge for 2 days, take them out 1 day, put them in the fridge 2 days, take them out 1 day etc.

I would definitely wait about 4 hours and see if they warm up and start moving.

I have found that with hornworms they should be over an inch before going in the fridge, I do 2 in 2 out in the bottom of the fridge (drawer) take them out of the cups and put in crumbled paper in a paper bag! Only loose 2 when I do this!! I just ordered 4 cups from mulberry farms ;)

That's where I got mine from :)

They grow VERY fast. I went to get them the other day and some of them were big and fat and approaching 3 inches while the others stayed between 1-2 inches.

I can't wait for my beardie to get bigger so I can get some more types of worms! I never thought I would see the day where I would get excited about worms or bugs.

You and me both!

I was so excited when my boxes of worms were delivered. And my roaches.. i never thought i'd see the day lol.

But they have baby/small worms for smaller dragons. I know they have baby super worms, and hornworms specially fed to not exceed 1-2 inches for smaller dragons. My beardie loves both of them.. and goes crazy for phoenix worms! :blob5:

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
