I Need some advice???

So my bearded dragon is still a baby, he was born May 30th and I have had him for only a few days now, and I have to go out of town next Wednesday night through Saturday. There is a reptile store in my town that will take your baby while your out of town for 2 dollars a day plus food. I was wondering if I should take him there and let them take care of him or buy some timers for his lights and let him stay at home? Im not sure what to do because I dont know if taking him to a new place will stress him out a ton or leave him at home all alone? And if I leave him at home the crickets would have to stay in his cage over night If anyone has any advice as to what I should do that would be great!

Definately don't leave him home alone especially with the crickets in his cage. I have known baby beardies to be eaten enough by crickets so far to the point it kills them... I would bring all your stuff to the pet store.. lights, uvb, basking lights, and let them take care of him.. Bring your own feeders and greens... Much safer than leaving him alone with crickets in the cage for 3 days.

Which pet shop is that? Pangea Pets? They're very trustworthy in my book.

Seeing as how you live in Gainesville, you could always leave him with me and I wouldn't charge you anything. I live on the south side of town. On 13th Street, near SW 16th Ave. Of course, since I'm just some random stranger on the internet, I understand if you don't feel comfortable with that. But just thought I'd throw the offer out there. Maybe we could babysit for eachother when we travel.

I would def be interested in watching each others beardies when we go out of town. Also - I usually go to HogTown Reptiles, have you been there before?

Never been there.... is that the one in the same shopping center as Gumby's Pizza and Sweetbay? If so, it's right next to the reptile shop I usually go to, Pangea Pets. I've been meaning to go in there and check the place out. Pangea does a great job. I can tell they really care about their reptiles. It used to be called Snakes a while back. My sister-in-law is a huge reptile freak and she was the one that turned me on to them. I asked about boarding yesterday, and they offer boarding for $1 a day, plus food. Not bad.

Yeah we go to Pangea sometimes, but just personal preference we like Hog Town a bit more, it is the one in the sweet bay plaza, they have a neat store with some very cool reptiles you should def check it out when you get a chance.

I will definitely check it out. I've been meaning to. I'll probably check it out this afternoon.

Checked it out. It's a really nice shop. More of a complete shop, they have everything. They did have beardies with only a basking light and no UVB, but overall a really good shop. It's nice to know I have two really good reptile shops nearby. Thanks.
