I may be missing something and need advice

So my beardie (taco) has been doing this this thing where every time I position his tank setup with a long laying flat he lies under it and never comes out! He has stayed under the log for up to 3 days without eating or pooping and just sleeping by then which I changed the setup to where that doesn’t exist and he just chills on his platform like nothing happened. I thought maybe it was a phase or something so I adjusted it back and he went right back under the log. He is about 6 months old, his temps range from 70-100F and he is currently taking metronidazole for 2 weeks to treat his giardia. If anyone can provide me with tips or behavior info I would appreciate it.

The 13W 5%UVB compact is TOTALLY inadequate.
At the very least this needs be upgraded to a 25W UVB200 (10%UVB). The UV source needs to mounted in something like a Exo Terra Compact Top (Nano size) and positioned UNDER the mesh lid and not more than 8 inches from the basking spot for a 25W UVB200.

Give strong consideration to upgrading to a T5HO 12%UVB tube and a good reflector hood about 2/3 the length of the tank (to suit) and mounting this UNDER the mesh lid.

The basking globe will be OK for now even though it's not a good globe , so long as you can get a basking spot at between 95F and 100F with it.

The meds are likely making his tummy feel sick , hence his being out of sorts .
