I took my bearded dragon to the vet on the 2nd July, he said she was really healthy, good length and size and weight was not a problem, She will be one year old at the beginning of September. But he then did a fecal check and he said the level of coccidia in her system was more than what it should be. He gave me the medicine BAYCOX to give her for 3 days, we gave her it and then this friday we have to take a fecal sample back to the vet so he can check it. He said if it is okay then we dont have to give her another round of medicine, however if it is still a problem then we have to give her the medicine again for 3 days. We stopped the medicine last monday and gradually since then to today she generally just is not her little sweet self. She has really lost her appetite and doesn't seem to be eating much at all she still basks and is alert and everything but she just wont eat much at all. Im starting to get really really worried as I have just read that when you give the dragon medicine to treat the parasite that it also wipes out their good bacteria too which explains her lack of interest in food and now I dont know what to do We live in the UK and would really appreciate if anybody could give me some advice? Maybe you yourself or you know somebody that has had this problem with this parasite?
