So for those of you that knew it was going this way, feel free to say I told you so!!!
But seriously, I don't know what to do-
I just got home and it's hours past Rocky's bedtime. I look in the enclosure and I couldn't find her. She was all the way towards the ceiling backed in the corner. I freaked out- checked her and she was okay. She wasn't be the light (lights were off anyways) but I checked for points where things hang, etc. No concerns.
I hug her (she hugged me back ) and I put her back in the enclosure. This is when things get weird. At this point, Rocky would scratch and go right to bed. Instead, she went to her log. She rested her head against another piece in the tank...very unlike her. I didn't like it. I cut the main light out and waited because again, knowing i am home she will scratch then sleep. I checked the enclosure- all is fine.
I pull her out- hug her again- she licks me/the air- she knows it is safe and you can tell she is exhausted - I have no idea what's going on.
I then pull out that dog bed I purchased last month...she gets on it and sprawls out. I pet her, she's fine, not breathing hard or anything.
She's not moving but I shine a light (oh, I'm a vet now) and she looks at me just fine.
Within 2 minutes, she scoots up- gets comfortable and goes to sleep. I move the dog bed from my bed to write this but I didn't put her back in. She's staying on a bench at the foot of my bed. She can stay there. I just have to be sure to wake up before her so she doesn't jump off.
See earlier, around noon, I opened the enclosure and Rocky put her hand on the door then jumped on me. She never did that before. After feeling special, I took that to mean that she wanted to sit in the window, and she sat there all day...no issues.
I do think Rocky is going through a growth period so I am a little eerie about her light requirements but other than that, we are doing great.
Rocky doesn't roam the house - I only let her in the window. She can stay there unsupervised but I'm always in the next room peeking in every 5 minutes. Moment of transparency, I forgot that she was out while I was on the phone one time; thank goodness she hadn't moved.
Soooooooooooo- how do I get back on track here? I am totally messing up.
Update: I read other posts and beardies are known to be spoiled easily. I guess I am okay - let's chalk this up as a venting session. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk!
