My bearded dragon Damien will not eat. I purchased him off of a breeder online. He is VERY healthy, he is around 525-550 grams, he is also 22" long!! So he is a big and healthy bearded dragon. The person that I purchased him off of said he fed him crickets, superworms, and roaches, he said he also fed him greens such as collared greens and turnip greens. Well I have only had him for 2 days now. But I can not get him to eat anything! I have tried feeding him collared greens, and turnip greens, crickets, phoenix worms, and superworms.. But still no luck?? I emailed the person I purchased him off of, and he said just give him a couple of days and he will start eating again, he said it will take him a little while to get used to his new tank. He said that he just fed him roaches before he was shipped to me so he wouldn't be that hungry for a couple of days. I'm only familiar with juvenile bearded dragons eating diet, I'm not really sure about adults.. He is around 2 1/2-3 years old. Juveniles eat 80% crickets, and 20% vegetables right? So adults would eat 80%greens and 20% crickets right? I'm so confused, do you think he will start eating soon? Or am I just worrying too much??
The tank he is in is a 125 gallon aquarium. (72X18X22). I am using 2 18" reptisun 10.0 bulbs on one side of the tank. On the other side of the tank I'm using 3 different 10" heating lamps with zoo med 100 watt basking lights in each one of the lamps.. So I know I have proper heating. One side of the tank is in the 80's in temperature, the hotter side varies depending where he is at 100-105 degrees or so. I have things for him to climb on so he can get closer to the lights as well. I've tried to tell everything I can so I can get help hopefully on here. What should I do? Should I quit worrying? Will he start eating in the next few days? Or is this not normal for him to not be eating for 2 days?? Is this normal for a healthy adult like him?? Please help me with adult bearded dragons diets, and how often they eat as well.. Please give me as many responses as possible on here, I will really appreciate it!!
ps. I'm sorry if I have these questions in the wrong area, but I did not know where to post them at.. Thanks!
